Why limit Crops to just scrapbooking?? Everyone needs a chance to escape for a few hours and to enjoy time dedicated to creatively expressing yourself in your chosen hobby – whether you love to scrapbook, paper craft, rubber stamp, or digitally create you will have more fun when you enjoy your hobby with others who “get it”, when you enjoy your hobby with no interruptions, when you enjoy your hobby within the walls of a fully stocked craft studio, when you enjoy your hobby knowing someone else is going to cook you a meal and someone else is going to clean up after you!
I hope you make plans in 2012 to attend any or all of these upcoming events. Whether you can attend for an hour, two hours, three hours or you are able to attend for the full day – you will be so refreshed when you leave that you will wonder why you don’t do this more often.

Awesome Samples from our RemARKable Hot Retreat

Our RemARKablyHot Retreat is more than a crop. There is so much stamping, scrapping and crafting that happens. But more importantly so much sharing. You do not need to arrive with any planned projects just adhesive and cardstock and within minutes there are shared ideas to either CASE or inspire an original. This year I took all the 120+ swap cards from Founders Circle on display boards, we had over 20 stockings entered in our stocking contests, 11 amazing holiday trees with Stampin’ UP! decorations, a swap card contest with 30+ entries and a Holiday tag contest with 20+ entries. That’s IN ADDITION to the samples created throughout the weekend and placed on our SHOW N’ SHARE tables throughout the weekend.
My Favorite part of the weekend is the spirit of sharing as attendees help each other with a tool or technique they don’t understand or know about, as attendees graciously share their ideas freely on the show n’ share tables, as attendees share their supplies – I heard here just use mine so many times it brought tears to my eyes. The attendees at this retreat put the SHARE in Stampin’ UP!’s Statement of the Heart! It’s the attendees spirit that makes the weekend what it is!!!

The last ingredient to a great weekend – FOOD – the hotels food is always amazing, our treat table with fruit and snacks is salty and sweet and there are always little stashes of goodies at the attendees tables. No matter the season a walk through the crafting room is like trick or treating!

RemARKable Hot Retreat More Fun – gLITTER patrol
Our semi annual RemARKable Hot Retreat is full of impromtu demos, amazing displays, lots of tools (2 of every punch, 6 big shot stations, almost every stamp, ink pads, embossing station, glitter station,etc), fun make n’takes, lots of laughter, good food, old friends and new friends. Join my mailing list today to get details on registering for our April 2012 event. Space is limited to 80 at each event.
One of the challenges with large events is the use of glitter and keeping it contained. My solution – this gLITTER pan – we set a powder pal tray down inside… working with the glitter “insdie” this tub has really made a difference. I used our silver shimmer paper stuck to our big shot multipurpose adhesive sheets, die but the letters peeled the backing off and simply stuck them on. Love that adhesive!

We are in the middle of our 5th RemARKable Hot Retreat. 3 days of Stamping, Scrapping and Crafting. This year we have a Christmas theme and myself and my wonderful support team chose to do an angel tree and the decorations grew from there. Wait until you see the close ups of the Stampin’ UP! decorated trees entered in the contest for 1/2 prize registration.

QUEENS DAY OUT – this fun page was the Make n’take on the last day of our RHR – RemARKably Hot Retreat . We took everyone’s picture with a tiara and the sign and had them printed. The page was planned to incorporate their pencil topper and place card into the page as embellishments. It features a mixture of traditional scrapbooking and MDS elements. You will see this in use at all day crops and many of the upcoming classes. In my travels more and more times I have come across big water coolers flavored with fresh cucumbers, melons, lemons, limes and more. I was on a mission to find a container for my kitchen in Stamp World and found this one. I love that this one is square – square stores so much easier. I love that the base can hold ice if I don’t want to dilute what is in the container. I love that the base can hold “embellishments” if I am not using it for ice. And I love that it sits high enough to get a wine glass under not just a short plastic cup. And of course I love the flat surface that I was able to add our Stampin’ UP! logo decor element too. So far the favorite flavor has been cucumbers. We all said yuck at the thought but the taste changed our mind. Can’t wait to try fresh mint leaves this summer and berries and other melons.
