Stumbled on this incredibly gross tourist attraction by accident. We were in Pike Place market trying to get to the lower level and ended up instead in Post Alley. Story on the wall goes something like this. Theater goers starting leaving their gum on the wall in 1993 as they entered the theater (the ticket window can be seen as the background of page 1). At some point they gave up trying to take the gum off and now it just grows and there is even a handy bubble gum machine to add your own piece to the wall. Which is just what Kristin and I did.
It’s definetely worth a side trip out of the market to see.
