On this Day of Thanksgiving I am forever thankful for a decision I made over 25 years ago to give Stampin’ UP! a try.
I had big goals, no business experience and didn’t like home parties.
Over 25 years ago when I started with Stampin’ UP! my goal was to be a stay at home mom with an income. I was an RN working night shift full time 7pm-7am and was always tired.
I wanted the flexibility of direct sales I’d heard about for my growing family and loved every minute of the flexibility that being a demonstrator provided while my kids were growing and through the college years. I am thankful I found it and Stampin’ UP!.
However, I am learning that the flexibility I so wanted to have as a mom is just as valued and was even more needed the last two years of my life.
Like the world the last 2 years saw us address the pandemic shifting how we do life and work and prioritize.
For me in addition to the pandemic these last 2 years brought a battle (and remission) from prostate cancer for my husband, loss of my mom, loss of my husbands job (thanks pandemic), two moves, a change in our retirement plans as we sold our “dream lot” , took on an amazing older home just so we could get back to living instead of building, took a risk on retirement and did the “PIVOT” thing.
I have never been more thankful for the pursuit of a flexible lifestyle.
Now that hubby is retired I have found that I can still enjoy Stampin’ UP! around our “retired” lifestyle – traveling, boating, kayaking, bike riding, visiting family, exploring our new home.
I also learned the value of consistency.
Despite all the family challenges of the last 2 years thanks to amazing customers, amazing team members, those who like, follow, share, refer on my social platforms I was recognized for being #37 in the US out of almost 41,000 demonstrators.
Direct sales can be anything you want it to be. It provides choices you control and decide on. Can I do more? Yes. Can I do less? YES. But I am doing exactly what works for me, my family and our priorities.
Thank you to all who are a part of my journey. We have so many more “remarkable things to craft and create together”.
