Thanksgiving is over and it’s full on Holiday time. I officially started playing Christmas music a true hallmark of the approaching holidays for me.
In the spirit of the season and Elves on the Shelves everywhere I pulled out festive phrasees and the cute little elf found in that set.
Festive Phrases is another one of those awesome multi season stamp sets with something for the Christmas holidays, Valentines and Halloween.
The stamps are sized to work as a gift tag or element on the front of a card.
Using this fun little red metal mailbox I found on a recent girls day out I started creating my own “Santa mail” to send throughout the month of December.
As is typical of the painter who never gets his own house painted, or plumber whose own house has a leak, many times as a demonstrator I never get around to mailing cards during the holiday season. Sad but true confession.
So this year I am trying something new – intead of waiting until I have “every” card made and doing one big mailing. I am simply making a card here and there and sending on it’s way to brighten a mailbox.
The card and the tag feature the same element- the elf stamp, stamped with memento ink, colored with assorted blends (daffodil combo, real red combo, old olive combo, light crumbcake) and layered on ovals cut from layering ovals and stitched framelits.
A finishing touch are the sweet real red enamel shapes.
