I love creating pretty holiday decorations for my house. Because they are simple paper crafts I don’t feel quilty changing them up year after year.
I simply repurpose the frames, easels, candles, etc.
For our final Detailed Gate project I got a jump start on my holiday decorating this year with this 12 x 12 piece of framed art.
I kept the color scheme simple and clean electing to stick with soft sky, basic gray, black and jazzing it up with champagne foil and dazzling diamonds glimmer paper.
This project gave me the chance to finally pull out three new products I’ve been waiting to play with the Christmas Lamppost thinlints and the Hearts Come Home Bundle.
Tip -to elongate the house so that it stood above the fence I simply cut a rectangle from black cardstock.
Tip – to add embossing paste to the roof top & chimney I simply brushed it on with a paint brush.
The center section is an 8″ x 8″ piece of whisper white and the champagne foil is cut 9″ x 9″.
The frame is one I have had for a few years , found at one of the big box arts and craft stores – the sticker on the back says AC Moore.
As I mentioned at the beginning I repurpose my frames over and over. One time investment, long term use. Perfect for this crafter.

Oh, WOW! Love this idea! I would have never thought to use it in a sampler! Love the way you used it with the house and the snow coming off the roof. Reminds me of winter’s when I grew up in Buffalo, New York.
