These two new products work so well together. I love tea and coffee so I was easily hooked by our new Tea Shoppe Set and I love old doily’s and lace so again I was easily hooked!

If you frequent other sites that feature Stampin’ UP! artwork or discussions you may have seen conversation around our Doily Sizzlit. I wanted to share some tips as I have personally not experienced any challenges with this die.

1. Sometimes there is a learning curve and a little experimentation is required.
2. Experiment with shims if your die doesn’t cut through your chosen piece of cardstock or designer paper the first time you use it with the traditional “sandwich”. A shim is thin pieces of white cardboard, actual cardstock or even chipboard – what thickness shim or whether you need more than 1 will depend on how “tight” your big shot it.I  have personally found the more I use my big shot and especially if I am cutting multiple layers of cardstock or really thick things that over time my big shot requires a shim for thinner dies or more intricate dies.
3. Designer Papers cuts easier than Cardstock
4. I prefer to mount my cut square of paper onto our Multi-purpose adhesive first then die cut it
5. After die cutting I roll my doily around a pencil in several different directions working over a powder pal or trash can to catch the small pieces. I found that doing this causes the majority of the pieces to pop right out.
6. The few remaining pieces that didn’t pop out that way are popped out with the paper piercing tool
7. Now I can easily peel the backing from the adhesive off and adhere to my project.
