Our last day of touring but not our last day of sharing. Hopefully you take the time to stop back by and visit myself and my RemARKable teammates often. We love sharing.

The last term/concept I want to leave you with in GOING GREEN in your crafting is the idea of “RECLAMATION”  – the idea of reclaiming pieces from old projects you never gave away, used, had on display, never finished, etc.

Go ahead it’s ok – pull those rhinestone brads off, snip those buttons off, unstitch something, paint it, start over. As a demonstrator I do a lot of reclaiming from my card samples – I save buttons, great bows, pieces of ribbon, brads, half pearls – basically anything I can get off a card w/o ruining the embellishment that is if I am not sending the card to someone!

Consider your UFO’s – Unfinished objects – how much money do you have tied up in those? Go ahead unbead those projects, unsew, unglue, undo, put the materials to use elsewhere. You will be surprised at what you do own and you will free yourself of the guilt of the UFO and the clutter of an UFO!

Today’s Project – Placemat Apron – I repurposed two linen placemats into a fun apron to wear at my events. In addition I have begun wearing aprons at home all day long. I love wearing aprons because I have learned the pockets are a great place to stash my reading glasses and cell phone. But why have just 1 apron. I have started to create an “apron” wardrobe. The apron has become my “work clothes.”   Go ahead make an apron today and share your version with me.

Supplies – 2 linen placemats, Big Shot XL Pennant Die, Old Olive Satin Ribbon, Retired Baja Breeze Buttons, Retired Baja Breeze Stitched Ribbon, Sewing thread, Sewing Machine – about 1 hour start to finish!! Way fun!

Ribbon Scrap Storage – I love my ziplock storage bags – they are flexible, I can easily zip them up and take them with me to a crop, class, event, and are not expensive! I have mine sorted by “grosgrain’s” “Taffeta/Satin” “Twill” & “Patterned Ribbons”

Hope you are ready to be a little more Green in your Crafting.
