Another Great Feature of MDS is the “opacity” tool. This tool is used to make something lighter in color or more “transparent”. You can see it in use on the 3 pages below.
December 2011 The Gears have been been made transparent as has the 2011 date.
Christmas page – the scroll work below the photo was made transparent so that it created a tone on tone effect
Teague Pointing Lessons – Teagues photo was added to the page and then the opacity tool used to create a transparency of the photo which makes really fun background images.

Been slowly knocking out some more scrapbook pages. I love how stamps can easily create just the right embellishment for a page. I also love how as a demonstrator I always have an assortment of quality cardstock and designer papers on hand. It makes it so easy to whip out a page when the mood strikes.

Here is another quick and easy MDS page. I love how stamps, punches, dsp and embellishments are never “retired’ in My Digital Studio. The Cog Wheel Punch used below is now only available in MDS!
Story behind the page – I had the chance to spend time with my nephews while they road bikes this spring and was surprised by all the “gear’ they have to protect them. My kids are 20 & 22 and helmets was all they had and that seemed like a lot sometimes! I mean I took a few headers over the handlebars and lived to create my MDS pages – but as a former trauma nurse I know the need to for this protection and how lucky I was when I think of some of the spills I had. Who didn’t try standing up on their banana seat at least once .

Stampin’ UP! My Digital Studio – Almost there!

I was fortunate enough to enjoy a 5 day road trip with my daughter Kristin last week as we relocated her from her internship at Chincoteague, VA back to school in Wichita, KS.
We both love to “chase the green dots” – also known as getting off the interstate and taking the scenic route and so we spent much of our time discovering America in states and places we had never been. After dropping her off at school the final day I spent time taking pictures around her campus knowing that in just a few short months she will graduate and be on to her next adventure.
I can’t wait to scrap more of our MoDa trip as we have affectionately called it. I know that there will be many more MoDa (mother daughter) trips in our future! I am lucky that Kristin is not only my daughter but my hero and friend!
Almost There- All elements My Digital Studio

I used one of my favorite MDS features to create this 2 page spread … Insert Duplicate Page Mirrored – it makes it so easy and quick to create a 2 page spread!!

Well here are pages 299, 298 & 297. Finally under 300. Somedays my personal challenge seems daunting and other days it seems totally doable. But whether it’s a daunting day or a doable day – it’s always fun to create the page. I love the process. From finding the inspiration, to the photos, to the papers and embellishments.
Today’s pages were inspired by the new Stampin’ UP! SIMPLY SCRAPPIN’ KIT Playful Polka Dots. I will be honest I have tried to “like” SIMPLY SCRAPPIN’ KITS but I was usually overwhelmed by all the pieces and my inability to use them up or felt stifled creatively by the included self-adhesive die cuts. Well I admit my attitude is completed changed with this kit. It’s so adorable, bright, happy and totally encourages creativity when you mix and match the SCRAPPIN” KIT with embellishments such as Soft Subtles buttons or ribbon we carry in our main line.
This kit will be our featured product at our JULY CROP & CRAFT - hope you register now to escape the hot summer sun while you enjoy a day of croppin’ & crafting with this SCRAP KIT! – July 9th, 2011.
STOP & SMELL THE FLOWERS – this sweet layout is actually the first page of a 3 page layout from a trip to Victoria, BC in 1990. I was inspired by my sweet daughter stooped over sniffing the flowers.
SUPPLIES – PLAYFUL POLKA DOTS Simply Scrappin’ Kit, Fun Flowers Big Shot Die, Daffodil Delight Pom Pom Trim, Soft Subtles Buttons, Pretty in Pink Striped Grosgrain, Old Olive Satin Ribbon, Melon Mambo Cardstock, Daffodil Delight Cardstock, Linen Thread,Timeless Type Big Shot Alphabet,

Happy St. Patricks Day with MDS & Donny Osmond

Yes you read that right. These pictures are from an incredibly amazing St. Patrick’s day party I attended with friends and Doug in March of 1989. We were at a wonderful pub in Bellevue, WA and the entertainment that day consisted of Donny Osmond, New Kids on the Block, Alice Cooper and Lita ford. Pretty wild time even if I was 7 months pregnant. As the designated driver I loved the looks I got from the others in the pub especially because we were saving our cups with the ugly orange haired trolls on them. As they piled up in front of me so too did the comments. Ohhh the memories. Funny too how I only have pictures of Donny – do have autographs from the others that I placed on the back of this page. Guess it’s the childhood memories of Puppy Love, Purple Socks and Are you Lonesome tonight!
