As a kid Ribbon Candy was a staple in our house at Christmas. These ornaments not only bring back fond memories of that ribbon candy but I finally found a great use for the Hat Pin in the Pretties kit from Stampin’ UP!. They are great for creating ribbon ornaments.
Length of ribbon to cut will vary with
a. How many loops you want on the pin
b. How close you want your loops to be or how full you want your pin to be
c. How wide you want your loops to be -most of mine shown are less than 1 ”
d. Whether you alternate beads, buttons, or other embellishments on the pin & how big those embellishments are.
Samples feature – Stampin ‘UP! Pretties Kit – pearls, hat pin, Whisper White Organza Ribbon, 1 1/4″ wide Old Olive Striped Grosgrain Ribbon and Retired SU ribbon.
This project is a great way to “recycle” and use up ribbon scraps. Watch for more samples this coming week.
Line your ribbon up all prim and proper like my White ribbon ornament or give it a twist like my Kiwi Kiss Satin Ribbon Ornament!

What a great idea! I like them all, but really love the last one. That twist plus the two color ribbon is really cool!

What a fabulous idea! And these can be made for pennies each since you can use your leftover ends of ribbon spools!
These are gorgeous. I could see making a ton of these and putting them on packages. I love to really pretty up my packages. Of course, only the ones for adults. It is kind of a waste of time to do it for a child. Thanks for sharing theses ideas. I am loving your blog.
