For the past 9 years my directs and dreambuilders ( a business focus group within the RemARKable Stampers) have had a chance to earn RAD – an incentive trip I host. The first 2 years we journeyed to the Smoky Mountains, the next year to Philadelphia and the last 6 years we have been here at Craft World. My directs and dreamers enjoy field trips, projects, and the last few years overnighted new product as our retreat has coincided with the release of the new mini product preorder period for demonstrators. In addition there is no cooking, no cleaning for 3-4 days as my husband and I take care of them and many spend the days in their pj’s, enjoy walks, watch movies, laugh like crazy and I know if it were not for the mandatory quiet time from 2am-6am so the help can get some rest many would never sleep.
This year our event was all about chocolate – chocolate in their stockings almost daily, a trip to Hershey, Hershey cocoa bath scrubs, wash and lotions, Hershey lip balm, hershey shopping bag, chocolate fondue, early espresso headband, amazing hershey cupcakes, dark chocolate cocoa for the kuerig and chocolate on the sweet and salty bar.
This year we had teammates from Michigan, New York, Massachusetts, Virginia, North Carolina,Maryland and Pennsylvania in the house!
I invite you to join my team for your chance to attend my directs InSPArational Weekend or your chance to earn RAD X 2012 –

Coloring Glimmer Paper – FUN place card holders

For these fun placecard holders I made I wanted my glimmer paper to have a gold tone to it. To do so I added some tea stain reinker to a little water and simply brushed the reinker over the silver glimmer paper. Let it dry and then use as desired.
Another trick I incorporated with this projects is the Big Shot Multi Purpose Self Adhesive sheets. I love, love, love, love, love this Stuff. Ok I really do like it. I adhered a full sheet to the back of my silver glimmer paper before cutting the letters I needed and then simply peel the back off and adhered to my christmas ball. It truly was “simply”. I love easy!
Nameplates created in MDS, Decor Elements Blocks, Rich Razzleberry Striped Grosgrain Ribbon, Silver Glimmer paper, Tea Stain Refill, Brush, Timeless Type Big Shot Alphabet, Mocha Specialty Paper, Perfect Plum Designer Series paper, Simply Scored tool, Vintage Brads.
I used a multipurpose spray adhesive to add the mica flakes – worked like a charm and the ornament is glued to a based used for doll heads(wood findings aisle of your local craft store).

Sure hope the guests these placecards are for enjoy them!

Well RAD is over – 2 full weekends of spoiling 27 REMARKABLE ladies. A surprise trip to Boyd’s Bear in Gettysburg, PA -was the perfect place for our group photo op & some fun candids. All the RAD achievers received Flannel Snuggies/shoulder wraps to wear in their stamp rooms that I had sewn for them. The flannel is the same flannel I had used for their name plate at their places. Fabric is easily cut with our big shot dies making it a fun and soft/3 dimensional embellishment for a scrapbook page.

Remember this photo – the Bear place settings served double duty – first as their place marker and second as a fun embellishment on their scrapbook pages. All RAD attendees made the first page above and the next one below.

Yesterday marked the arrival of week #1 RAD achievers. RAD = RemARKably Achieving Directs & Dreambuilders. It is my personal incentive trip for my directs and members of the RemARKable Stampers focus group – DREAMBUILDERS. This year 13 join me week 1 and 14 join me week 2 (next week) as we celebrate our 7th annual RAD event.
RAD acheivers enjoy 3 days of stampin, scrappin’ & crafting here at stamp world – with full access to EVERYTHING – stamps, inks, papers, embellishments, adhesive and more – if they can find it they can use it. Everything is labeled so it’s pretty easy!
They also enjoy fun planned make n take’s, gifts and are fed by our wonderful cook – Mr. Wakeland (aka my hubby!). It’s a time to relax, it’s a time to build bonds, it’s a time to be spoiled. There is always moments of laughter and tears. There is lots of PJ time as there is little reason to dress, sleep is an optional activity as no one wants to miss a moment and this year they will be creating around the clock with EVERY single item demonstrators could order from the New Mini and the 3 items I was able to preorder from the SAB catalog. My order arrived December 2nd. Thank you SU for allowing us to preorder and expedite ship – my RAD achievers are loving it and the samples we have created -well stay tuned I will begin posting them Sunday evening. In addition this year we are taking a very special field trip – The bear is a hint and the flannel he is cut from is part of their gift the bear is a hint – check back next weekend for details dont’ want to spoil the fun for week 2 achievers.
RAD is my favorite Stampin’ UP! trip and event of the year.
