This is one of our projects this weekend. Found these ceramic crosses at a local craft store and knew I wanted to embellish them.
Supplies – Cross, Woodgrain Background stamp, Chocolate chip craft pad, clear embossing powder, Abundant Hope Stamp Set, Water color paper, watercolor crayons, Taken with Teal Decor Raw Vinyl, Timeless Type Alphabet, Linen Thread
TIP – The embossing on the ceramic takes a long time – be patient and do not hold in your hand – the ceramic gets VERY hot.

Embellished Simply Adorned Charm Chains

Why stop at creating cool inserts for your charms? I used the lobster claw concept of our charms to create a whole new look for my Simply Adorned Chains. I love the lobster claws and how I can remove them quickly and easily and always be changing the look of my necklace.
EMBELLISHED CHAIN Idea #1 – Featuring Key charms & Pearl Charms, lobster claw clasps. For this look after adding my Key charms to the chain, I hooked my simply adorned charm through 2 links a few inches up from the center bottom This created a “tail” for lack of anything better to call it hanging below my charm and added a different character to the charm. This also has the effect of “shortening”the chain.

EMBELLISHED CHAIN #2 – for this charm I not only added lobster claws to some fun cross charms, but I used a flat cross charm on the insert I created as well. Charm insert used Natures Silhouette and Nouveau Chic DSP.

The largest simply adorned charm was finally released woo-hoo. And just in time. I had just finished a charm insert swap and had my inserts all ready to go.
Pictured here are all 3 sizes side by size. The largest one is on a chain available from SU, the middle size is on a chain from SU that I wove taffeta ribbon thorugh and the smallest in a strand of pearls.

These charms mix and match with chains and necklaces you already own. I love swapping out my inserts and totally changing the look.

GOING GREEN BLOG TOUR DAY #2 – Jelly Bean Prayer & More
Posted On: March 4, 2010
Posted In: 2010 Occasions Mini, Big Shot, Blog Tour, Crafts, easter, home decor
Comments: 2 Responses
Welcome to day #2. Another great term I saw as I was surfing the web for definitions of going green was the term “TRASHformation” I love this. The thought of transforming something that might have ended up in the trash.
Today’s first project fits that term – this old tin could have ended up in the trash but we “TRASHFORMED” it.In addition the flowers/leaves and vanilla cardstock were all from my scrap bin. The big shot dies are a great partner for using up scraps.

Recycling #2 – These glass jars were used at Valentines – new candy, new tags. The larger jar also features something I call “Jar Wraps” instead of adhering things right to your glass jars making it harder to use them over and over I create a wrap for the jar.

Recycling #3 – FRAME – I repurposed this old frame to hold my Jelly Bean Prayer.
JELLY BEAN PRAYER -jellybeanprayer

ORGANIZATION TIP #2 – Small Scraps. I have a “scrap station” that has 4 buckets – 1 for color scraps, 1 for in color scraps, 1 for DSP scraps and 1 for mini scraps. This bins are labeled for ease of use and accessible. I always reach for my scraps first when punching, using the big shot, making samples or tying something out. The “scrap stations” is also accessible to attendees at my Crop & Crafts and my team events held at stamp world. I also take my buckets of scraps to crops for our “MY SCRAPS ARE YOUR SCRAPS” stations.

Stop by tomorrow for my Repurposed Placemat Apron!!!

Let the Easter decorating begin. Finally got a chance to switch from pink and red to pastels. More to come as I finish up my wrought iron trees, candy jar tags and powder bath decor.
BIG SHOT LINENS – couldn’t find any table runners, linens I like for Easter so I made my own – this one is made from Flour Sack towel, Decorative Accents Big Shot die (fusible webbing is an awesome thing), sweet pea stitched Felt pieces, needle, thread. Too easy!
