Another Great Feature of MDS is the “opacity” tool. This tool is used to make something lighter in color or more “transparent”. You can see it in use on the 3 pages below.
December 2011 The Gears have been been made transparent as has the 2011 date.
Christmas page – the scroll work below the photo was made transparent so that it created a tone on tone effect
Teague Pointing Lessons – Teagues photo was added to the page and then the opacity tool used to create a transparency of the photo which makes really fun background images.

MDS Monday – Using the Grid Feature Tutorial. We had an amazing visit over Christmas to Washington D.C. One of our stops was the Botanical Garden. I loved all the flowers and the miniatures of the monuments were amazing. But like some of you I took way to many photos and didn’t want to leave any out. One of my favorite “go to” layouts when I have a bunch of photos to spotlight is a grid layout as seen below. Watch today’s My Digital Monday video to see just how easy the Grid Feature of MDS makes this layout.
The grid tool is an amazing tool especially when you combine it with the zoom feature. I love all the little details that are built into the My Digital Studio software program.
If you love digital crafting /scrapbooking and haven’t take the plunge yet.. Let me show you how we can incorporate the downloads you already own into our program for incredible ease of use and also how you can earn an incredible FREE Software content CD with Exclusive Sale-a-bration stamp brushes, designer paper, ribbons, brads.

Teague Countdown – Ready & Waiting – MDS Meets Wing Dings!

Found another new trick to utilize with MDS -Wingdings. Per Wikipedia - Wingdings are a series of dingbat fonts which render letters as a variety of symbols. An example of this is the free Animal Prints font from www.dafont.com -the letter C is actually the cute paw print on my page below.
Because the image is a font I can change the color & size as well as add a drop shadow to the image on my page.
I can’t wait to play with more wingdings – what a great FREE compliment to the graphics that are part of our MDS software and the weekly downloads you can purchase.

Why limit Crops to just scrapbooking?? Everyone needs a chance to escape for a few hours and to enjoy time dedicated to creatively expressing yourself in your chosen hobby – whether you love to scrapbook, paper craft, rubber stamp, or digitally create you will have more fun when you enjoy your hobby with others who “get it”, when you enjoy your hobby with no interruptions, when you enjoy your hobby within the walls of a fully stocked craft studio, when you enjoy your hobby knowing someone else is going to cook you a meal and someone else is going to clean up after you!

When I was in Fort Mill, SC this summer I found this amazing statue in a little city park. The inscription and prayer on her really captivated me. The statue was dedicated to the women of the confederacy as seen by this inscription here:

As the journaling reads on my page below – I was reminded that while our focus is on those serving on the battlefields of the world there are those women (mothers, sisters, wives, aunts, grandmothers, etc) serving on the home front – keeping it together until our soldier returns. And of course in this day and age – we have women in the battlefield and men on the homefront. But there are many ways to serve. Bless you all!

October 2011 Snowstorm – Scrapped!

I don’t know about you but anything can set me off on the need to scrapbook -a color, a quote, a photo, an embellishment, a mood, a piece of DSP – you name it and it can inspire. In the case of this page below it was the quote that inspired.
As most of you know the east coast experienced a rare October snowstorm Halloween weekend this year. Loss of power, downed trees and sadly lives lost as well as a result of this whopper storm that dumped inches on our beautiful trees covered in all the glorious colors of fall. This quote while referencing spring brought to mind all the colors of the leaves we saw peaking out under white snow.
To create the layout I turned my photo to black and white in My Digital Studio (I love our basic photo editing properties) and then just played until I found a color palette that made me smile.

Been slowly knocking out some more scrapbook pages. I love how stamps can easily create just the right embellishment for a page. I also love how as a demonstrator I always have an assortment of quality cardstock and designer papers on hand. It makes it so easy to whip out a page when the mood strikes.

From one Vet to another – regardless of which branch, how long – I thank you for your service and allowing me to continue to enjoy my life in America.A special thank you to those who this video highlights as volunteers serving our veteran’s behind the scenes. We are all called to serve in one way or another and together it all adds up to amazing things. God Bless You.
Here is a flashback to 1985 and my own Army Basic Training. WOW. Do you ever think “was I ever that young?”. It felt good to get these photos out of the their old style albums and into acid free surroundings. Page by page, day by day - current, past… My no rhyme no reason style of scrapbooking keeps me happy!
