Did you know that in the US alone approximately 1.6 billion holiday cards will be purchased. There are no stats on how many Christmas cards are lovingly made by hand. But I do know that handmade cards are more likely to be kept, more likely to sit out longer on a shelf, mantle or desk.
Give your card a place of honor this year by creating a one of a kind made from the heart Christmas greeting.  There is still plenty of time to get the card making supplies, create your special message and send happy mail to all your family and friends this holiday season.
Stampin’ UP!s two catalogs – the annual catalog and our holiday catalog both contain lots of ideas for the Christmas season as well as all the products to make the card.

My biggest dilemma every year is narrowing down my ideas. So far I have created three I am in total love with and are the front runners to be “the card” this year. This is one of them. I love the clean simplicity of the front of the card and have a soft spot for nativity. Nativity stamps are the one stamp I keep and have a collection of. I also have a soft spot for nativity ornaments and keep a nativity set out year round.

I’ve always loved Christmas and the Christmas story. Always did the advent thing and when my kids were young always put a nativity set out. But my real love began when our son Greg was about 5 or 6. After the holidays we were undecorating and I was packing up the nativity. Greg wanted to know why I put the nativity away because as he said  “Doesn’t Jesus live all year?” Ever since then a nativity has been out year round at our house. Not just a holiday decoration to bring out at Christmas but a year long reminder of the really message of Christ’s birth.
