I have been helping the youth group dessert fundraising at church the last few years by providing decorations. Every year it’s always a fun themed event and this year they are using an Awards/Oscar theme for their party and so I came up with the following creations to tie into “store bought” decorations.

The event is done as a dinner and then desserts are auctioned off.

For the auction paddles I created small tuxes using the top note die, big shot alphabet, dowel rods, and tulle.  What a blessing to have 55 bidding families this year!

For the centerpieces – I created more small tuxes this time with pearls or rhinestones  and then each centerpiece has a different dress because no actress would show up in the same dress as someone else. The tuxes and dresses are double sided so they look good from both sides. Tuxes again use the Top note Big Shot Die. Dress use pattern below printed onto white cardstock and them embellished with all sorts of Stampin’ UP! cardstock, ribbon, embellishments – current and retired.

The dress pattern is here – I am sorry I do not remember where I found it. I was on many craft sites (Non SU)  right clicking and saving ideas as I was looking for a dress pattern/idea. If you know where I got this or if this is your pattern and you want credit just let me k now.

Tips
1. Right click and save to your computer
2. I printed mine as 2 to a page 5×7
3. I printed mine on white cardstock
4. You can also just print one and use it as template to cut the dress from any color you want
