Today’s posts features Shimmer Paint & our new Smooch Pearlized Ink. (You can find a smooch spray free PDF tip sheet on my tuesday post of this week). I used the Shimmer paint and smooch pearlized ink to alter ribbon from plain to wow and embellished a few cards to show you as well.

This little accessory is POWERFUL and a MUST HAVE accessory in your creative arsenal. A little goes a long way and the cute Pearlized Ink bottles with their fine point applicators make you feel like you are at the Creativity SPA when using them.

TIPS FOR ALTERING RIBBON WITH SHIMMER & SMOOCH -
*use sponge daubers
*a little goes a long way
*Drying times vary based on type of ribbon (grosgrain, taffeta, satin, etc).
*Simply highlight a ribbon’s natural colors or totally change the color from white to silver, white to gold, etc.
 *Thin ribbon such as taffeta absorb ink through to the other side, your thicker grosgrain do not – you can opt for a double sided look by coloring only one side or if you don’t want that look remember to turn it over and color the other side as well.
*It’s just ribbon – experiment!!!

EXAMPLES – On the two square of red cs – bottom – bottom piece is coated with shimmer, top piece with pearlized ink.
     

BABY GIRL BLING – start her off right with blinged up WELCOME BABY CARD  features our Baby Tees’s jumbo wheel, Nursery Suite Specialty Paper – Illuminate Top Coat Pearlized Ink used on Blushing Bride twill and DSP.

QUICK CHRISTMAS – silver taffeta (color with shimmer paint) is just the thing for your Holiday Cards – Card features Vintage Wallpaper Textured Impressions folder, Perfect Punches Stamp Set, Scallop circle punch and Cherry Cobler (yummy)

SWEET & SOUR – the fine point tip of the pearlized ink makes it easy to color just where you want such as the swirls on this SWEET & SOUR DSP, taffeta ribbon colored with Gold Lame Pearlized Ink.
