Summer Office with Stampin’ UP! Pretties Kit and Medallion Rub-on

Ever create something that just makes you smile. I have been working on a “summer office” –  a place in the morning to sit outside sip coffee, check emails, blog, update facebook etc. This is what I came up with – I think it will also be a great place to sit in the evenings as the sun sets and next weekend as we watch the fireworks over the lake…

TABLE WEIGHTS – I looked all over for those clip on weights they use to keep your tableclothes from blowing off and could not find after stopping at 6 different stores, sooooo.. I decided to make my own – best idea – now they match my decor intead of my making do with cherries, grapes or whatever else the store would have had. The cool part is the magnets stick to the tin on the table when not in use.

Step 1 – Color pretties flowers – I used pumpkin pie and summer sun – don’t worry about even coverage – real flowers aren’t perfect.I used daubers and simply sponged the color on – first pumpkin pie then summer sun.

Then I punched pumpkin pie cirlces and used our linen thread to sew Playground buttons to the flower and the flower to the metal clip. Lastly I tied on a piece of wide old olive grosgrain to create “leaves”

Table Centerpieces – I found this metal “basket”that is perfectly sized to hold 6 bottles of wine or a bottle, glasses, silverware, napkins or since this is supposed to be my summer “office” pens, pencils, calculator and more. I added 1/2 a medallion decor element to it some Playground buttons and the HAPPINESS decor element. The 3 smallglass vases featured retired rub-on’s and our natural hemp with Playground buttons.
